Title:Universal features of strongly interacting Fermi gases: correlations and transport phenomena

Abstract:

In this talk, I discuss some universal features of the strongly interacting Fermi gases, focusing on the unitary regime where k_Fa_s >1, where a_s is the s-wave scattering length and k_F the Fermi wave vector. It will be shown that several transport coefficients (viscosity, spin diffusion constants etc.) in the unitary regime nearly saturate their quantum bounds. In the case of transverse spin diffusion, we will discuss the development of contact parameter which encapsulates the correlation effects, and relate it to the spin diffusion dynamics.
